The first development of its kind to address the need for public space within the ski village of Hirafu. A series of public Plazas connect together to create opportunities for seasonal events and activities. The space is designed to allow maximum versatility with areas that transform into ice rinks and snow play in winter while providing Relaxing open lawns and shady hangouts in summer. With extensive podium landscaping above the basement Car park, great care was taken to maximize the opportunity for planting where level changes allow for greater soil depth.

The design aims to fill in the missing piece in Hirafu village – public space and retail experiences which can be accessed by guests and the local community alike.
